What we collect, why, and what happens to it. A short document, because we collect very little.
1. Who we are
Local Site Growth is a sole trader business in Christchurch, New Zealand. “We”, “us” and “our” mean that business.
This policy covers localsitegrowth.com and is written under the Privacy Act 2020.
2. What we collect
From you, if you give it: name, business name, business type, email, phone, and whatever you write in the message box.
Sent with an enquiry, if you ran the audit first: the address you checked, the result it returned, the finding we would start with, and how long the tool was open. That last one tells us whether the thing is useful, nothing more.
If you ask for an audit report by email: that address, and the site the report is about.
Automatically: approximate location, device and browser, and which pages were viewed, through the analytics below.
No payment or card details pass through this site.
3. What we use it for
Answering you. Running an audit you asked for. Delivering, invoicing and supporting a project if you engage us.
Analytics is read in aggregate, to see which pages earn their place. Nothing is sold. Nothing is rented. Nothing is used for a purpose other than the one it was given for.
4. The website audit
It reads an address you type in. The result appears on the page as it is found, and all of it is readable without giving us an email address.
Ask for the report by email and we use that address to send it. You get the report you asked for. You are not added to a mailing list.
5. Asking for a second look
The audit offers to check the site again after thirty days. The tick box does not set that up. The email carries a link, and clicking it is the confirmation, so only somebody holding that inbox can start it.
The reason: anyone can type any address into our box, including one that is not theirs.
That confirmation is a signed link, not an account. No login, no list, and no record kept beyond the emails themselves.
So there is nothing to unsubscribe from. The second look is run by a person on the day, prompted by that confirmation sitting in our inbox. Reply “stop” to any of it, or email info@localsitegrowth.com, and it goes no further. A reply reaches us directly, because none of this is automated.
6. Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics, which sets cookies and collects aggregate, non-identifying usage data from the moment a page loads.
No advertising pixels. No retargeting. Block cookies in your browser and the site still works.
7. Other companies involved
Three outside providers: hosting, email delivery, and analytics. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, and may not use it for anything else.
Fonts and images are served from this domain, so nothing loads from a third party when you open a page.
Some process data on servers outside New Zealand, including the United States. That is ordinary for those services.
8. How long we keep it
An enquiry that does not become a project: kept a reasonable period, then deleted. Same for the record of an audit report sent by email, and sooner if you ask.
A project we are engaged on: kept for the length of that engagement. Financial records: at least seven years, because New Zealand tax law requires it.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Access is limited to what is needed, and we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect it.
If a breach involving your information were likely to cause serious harm, we would tell you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, as the Privacy Act 2020 requires.
10. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email info@localsitegrowth.com.
Not satisfied with the answer? Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or 0800 803 909.
11. Changes
This policy may be updated. A change takes effect when it is posted, and the date at the top changes with it.
